It’s my first blog! And I’m trying hard to make
a quality post to all my friends, followers and fellow bloggers. I would like
to make a good and fresh start by sharing to you an up close and personal Fresh
Talk about me. It was published in our 2012 4th quarter Fresh News
(our company’s magazine, published quarterly) and it was written and edited by my
fellow Mag staff (Miss RR ♣ .. A for the effort).
Enjoy reading !!!

He started out as a shy and timid person; a
little mysterious with a little hint of naughtiness. But slowly he came out of
his shell. But it was not when
he courageously danced (Gangnam style!) In
front of the NEH crowd, that we knew we have to get to know him more.
Bryl 101:
Designation: Agri Extension Technical Officer
Date Started with Fresh Studio: Jan. 16, 2012
How did you learn about Fresh
Studio?
Actually I initially applied for a position
on a
different department for NEH, but
unfortunately I was not accepted. Later on I
learned about the vacancy for Post Harvest
Research Assistant at Fresh Studio, but I
think God has
other plans for me so I ended up as an
Extension Officer and
the rest they say is history.
What does an Extension
Officer do?
Basically we bridge the gap between the
R&D and our
clients. On a typical day we do farm
evaluations and
assessments and provides trainings to help
the growers
become technically equipped to handle their
farms. We also
facilitate the cascading of recommendations
and ensure
that it is understood by all stakeholders.
What is it you like best
working at Fresh Studio?
What I like about Fresh is the team
composition itself. Being able to work
with young and vibrant people keeps
me on my toes always. I like to
wo r k wi t h c omp e t i t i v e
officemates, they challenge
me to be better every day and
everyone keeps an open mind
and there is a sense of openness,
something that I did not
experience with my previous
employer.
What is your most memorable
experience working at Fresh
Studio?
Every time we conduct farm
evaluations, it is almost always
memorable. Up to this day I can
still remember the first time I
conducted a farm evaluation on
my own. My encounter with very
vocal Farm Supervisors always
leads to exciting and sometimes
e x p l o s i v e i n t e l l e c t u a l
d i s c u s s i o n s . A n o t h e r
memorable experience at work
happened during one of our
evaluation at DFADI. This time
the challenge came in an animal
form: a SNAKE! I'm not really
an athletic person but I swear I
could have won a 100 meter dash
that time. All part of the job I
guess!
What's the most challenging
part of your job?
Keeping my optimism in tact is always a
challenge.
There are times that work can discourage you
and some
people try to intimidate and bring you down
so it's a
struggle to maintain a positive outlook. I
can be guilty
of having my emotions get the better of me
and my job requires me to
keep an open mind a strong will and to
maintain that level of
What are your dreams and
aspirations?
My family and my home (Compostela
Valley) are two of the most important things
in my
life. Someday I would love to go back and
stay
there for good. I love the mountains and I
love nature and I think ComVal is the
perfect place for that. Despite all the
devastation we experienced during
the recent Typhoon, there is no
place like home.
I know you are still young,
but what
would you want people to
remember
you by?
When I'm gone (knock on wood!), I
would like to be remembered as a
simple man. And when they speak of
me or mention my name, they would
smile and that I was responsible for
that.
Is this your dream job?
Growing up I wanted to become a doctor or an
anchor person. Before,
my family owned a parcel of land, and my
mother challenged me to
manage it and make something out of it. So I
ended up planting banana.
Life really has a funny way of twisting our
faith so I ended up pursuing a
degree in agriculture instead.
If you were to be given 3
wishes
by a genie what would they
be?
1) House & Lot for me and my
loved ones
2) Travel around the world (hopefully
not just in 80 days!)
3) Have the power to help my friends
And this is how it was presented..
